Welcome to Little Poppins Learning Academy

A Personalized Approach to Early Education and Care

We are a brand-new, private prep-school for children ages 3–5, combining British educational foundations with American values in a nurturing environment. Putting the child at the heart of everything we do, we help them feel empowered, independent and curious. A thoughtful balance of child-led and adult-initiated activities makes learning meaningful and fun through imaginative play, hands-on experiences and purposeful teaching.

The four principles of the EYFS

How children learn and grow with us

Unique Child

At Little Pearls, we celebrate every child as a unique individual, recognising that each child learns, grows and develops at their own pace.

Our dedicated practitioners take time to understand each child’s interests, strengths and individual needs, building warm, trusting relationships that help them feel safe, valued and confident.

Guided by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), we provide nurturing environments and meaningful learning experiences that encourage curiosity, independence and exploration. Through positive interactions, purposeful play and strong partnerships with families, we support every child to develop a love of learning and reach their full potential.

Positive Relationships

Our practitioners build warm, caring and secure relationships with children, responding sensitively to their individual needs, feelings and stages of development.

Through consistent routines, clear and age-appropriate boundaries, and positive role modelling, we create a safe, nurturing environment where children feel valued, respected and confident to express themselves. Practitioners support children to recognise, understand and manage their emotions, develop positive relationships and learn how their actions can affect others.

Through meaningful interactions, encouragement and gentle guidance, children develop independence, resilience, self-confidence and a growing sense of responsibility. In line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), we promote children’s personal, social and emotional development, helping them to build the skills they need to form friendships, cooperate with others, resolve conflicts and develop respect for themselves and those around them.

Learning and Development

Building on these strong foundations, our practitioners use their knowledge and experience to extend each child’s learning through meaningful play and purposeful experiences.

Guided by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), we nurture curiosity, critical thinking, creativity and growing independence, helping every child develop the skills and confidence they need for the next stage of their journey.

Enabling Environments

Our environments are thoughtfully designed in line with the EYFS principle that children learn best in spaces that are safe, welcoming and well organized. Filled with natural resources and a gentle color palette, our spaces are complemented by wood and plants to create a calm and inviting atmosphere where children can feel settled and ready to learn.

Each room offers a range of developmentally appropriate resources that are carefully organized and kept within children’s reach, encouraging them to make independent choices about their play and learning. Our teachers are always close by to observe, support and extend learning through meaningful interactions, helping children build confidence, curiosity and new skills.

Calm, cozy spaces support self-regulation, while our dedicated outdoor learning environment provides further opportunities for exploration, active play and hands-on experiences. By following children’s interests both indoors and outdoors, we create rich learning opportunities throughout the day.

What makes Little Poppins unique?

Critical Thinking

Helping children test ideas, make connections, find solutions and keep trying. We encourage them to question what they know, make predictions and discover new ways to overcome obstacles.

Kindness

Modeling empathy, respect and care, helping children understand themselves and others. We encourage kindness toward one another, support respectful boundaries and empower children to make a positive difference in the world.

What they say about us

We don’t have parent reviews yet as we aren’t open, but here are some of the lovely things that have already been said about our center during the renovation and development process.

Your preschool is going to be beautiful. I love seeing you do this to teach the kids about nature.

That’s so exciting. We don’t have anything like that locally.

A local parent

Wow, that’s so different. I would love my child’s school to have something like that.

The children have an amazing variety of activities to get stuck into every day and my daughter comes home so happy… I can’t recommend enough.

Independent parent review, January 2026

Communication and attention to detail for each individual child is incredible. We don’t have a village of support for our son, so without Little Pearls we wouldn’t know what to do.
